The Department of Education, Damdama College was established on August 9, 1978, along with the college itself, under the headship of Mahnur Ali. In the year 1989, the Department of Education was approved by the government. The Department commenced its first batch major course in 1988 with total of 20 students and since 2017–2022, a total of 254 students have obtained bachelor's degree in education with honors.

2. To create understanding about the current trends of education.
3. To enable the learners to have a better understanding about the philosophical, sociological, psychological and technological bases of education.
4. To develop a brand of social and educational reformer.
5. To have a greater educated community of leaders.
Vision:
1. To develop the department of education as knowledge hub of the locality.
2. To develop the department as a community learning center.
3. To make the department an additional Learning center.
