Brief History and Overview
- Damdama college is one of the major institutions of higher education in Damdama region. Since its inception in 1978, Damdama college has been imparting higher education to hundreds and thousands of students of the region. The department of Political Science of Damdama College was established in the same year of its establishment and since then it has been functioning as one of the vital organ of the college. Initially, the department started functioning with Pass Course. A later major/Honors course was also introduced in Political Science from 1993. There are four sanctioned posts for faculty and at present, it is a full-fledged department with all four sanctioned faculty members. Owing to the increasing demand of students towards the subject, the department of politics has seen upward trend of students' intake, and the department has undertaken various cross cutting measures to cope with the present education system.

3. To produce role models in all walks of life particularly in the sphere of governance and social service.
4. To contribute to a deeper understanding of politics and Government.
VISION
1. To generate Knowledge and equip the students with knowledge of Society State and Politics.
2. Prepare them to perform their role as responsible citizen.
3. The department affirms its commitments to equity, inclusiveness, unity diversity and rights of the marginalized.
4. The department seek to enhance students' specific knowledge along with their ability to think critically.
GOALS
1. To undertake teaching and Extension Programme in major branches of Political Science.
2. To impart training to the students in order to equip them for academic and professional capability.
3. To impart moral and Ethical values to the students and prepare them as responsible citizen.
