Report on One Day Workshop on Mushroom
Cultivation and Marketing
A one Day Workshop on
Mushroom Cultivation and Marketing was held on 8th August, 2026 from
10:00 AM-1:00 PM at Conference Hall of Damdama College. The Programme has been
organized by the Institution’s Innovation Cell of Damdama College with
reference to the Resolution No 1 of the general meeting dated 4th August,
2026. Accordingly, Mrs Latika Das, a local entrepreneur and expert on
mushroom cultivation and marketing visited the college.
The programme was hosted
by Dr. Niharika Phukon, the Startup Coordinator of the Institution’s Innovation
Cell, Damdama College. She highlighted the purpose and agenda of the programme.
The invited expert Mrs. Latika Das thereafter interacted with learners and
demonstrated necessary activities related to mushroom cultivation. All the
necessary kits were presented and demonstrated by the expert. The entrepreneur
pointed out the following:
1. Preparation
of tubes for mushroom cultivation.
2. Classification
of mushrooms.
3. The
environment and temperature control necessary for a successful cultivation.
4. Necessary equipments for making
Mushroom cylinder such as Straw or hay, fungus, seed, cockpit, etc.
5. Local
Market and scope for earning livelihood.
In the workshop, a total of 51 members were present. The programme was found effective and successful. The objectives of the programmed have been fulfilled with active participations of the student and faculty members of the college.
