Late Dharmeswar Barman Memorial Lecture: Damdama College*

Theme: "Indian Knowledge System on Environment Consciousness: A Sustainable Outlook"

On 12th June 2026, a lecture program was organized in the premises of Damdama College in the memory of Late. Dharmeswar Barman, former Vice-Principal and retired Professor, Department of Political Science, Damdama College. The event was organized by the Library and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Damdama College.

Prof. Dr. Partha Pratim Boruah, Professor, Department of Botany, Gauhati University delivered the lecture on the topic: "Indian Knowledge System on Environment Consciousness: A Sustainable Outlook". The program began with the lighting of the lamp by Barman's wife, Moromi Mala Baideu. Dr. Bhabeshwar Deka, former Vice-Principal of Damdama College, delivered a speech reminiscing the memory of Late Barman. The session was presided over by Dr. Suranjan Sharma, Principal of the College. Retired professors Mr. Biraj Das and Md. Altaf Hussain, along with faculty members, librarian, staff, and students were present at the event.
