"Commemorating 250 years of "The Wealth of Nations"-Lecture on Special Development Goals and North East India

A special lecture was organized on "Commemorating 250 years of "The Wealth of Nations" at Damdama College on 28/03/2026.  The programme was hosted by Mr. Rajib Mahanta, (Associate Professor), Economics Department and our Principal, Dr. Suranjan Sarma inaugurated the programme and delivered a lecture on SDGs and its significance. Prof. Mrinal Kanti Dutta, IIT, Guwahati, our esteemed guest delivered lecture on "Special Development Goals and North -East India". Prof. Dutta delivered an insightful knowledge by high lightening about 17 SDGs interconnected goals aimed at transforming the world such as no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace justice and strong institutions and partnerships for the goals. The programme was attended by all the faculty members and students of Damdama College. The programme was concluded with the heartfelt note.
