Celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika , through  a collaborative effort between  Damdama Sahitya Sabha  and Damdama College on 8th September, 2025. The program was presided over  by Babul  Ch. Das, President of  Damdama Sahitya Sabha. The purpose of the  program was explained by the Secretary Binod Ch. Malakar. The session on  Dr. Bhupen  Hazarika"s life  and  achievement was  moderated by Dr. Suranjan Sarma, Principal, Damdama College.  The  speakers included writer Kanak Sarma, Debajani  Gogoi, HoD, Department of Political Science, Dr. Gitamani  Deka,  Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Damdama College. The program was attended by teachers, other staff members, students as well as distinguished guests. After the discussion, everyone present sang  together Dr.  Bhupen Hazarika's iconic song "Manuhe Manuhor Babe".
