On 10th November, 2023 Damdama College Study Circle in collaboration with IQAC organized
a program “Dalichar Mel’. The main aim of the program is to bring awareness of our Indian
culture, language and history. The program was held in the college field. The program was
inaugurated by Dr. Saurav Sengupta, IQAC co-coordinator and Dr. Chandan Jyoti Chutia was
the emcee of the event. All the faculties, librarian and students of Damdama College were
present in the program. Few students participated in the program such as poem reciting, book
reviews, review of the book autobiography of A.P.J Abdul Kalam and Dr. Nazneen Ara Hoque
(Assistant Professor, Economics) shared her reviews on movies of different genre and
recommended few movies for the students to watch in their leisure time which is relevant to our
society, politics, culture, traditions & literature.
The newly elected Students Union of Damdama College for the session 2023-24 was formally
introduced in the program in front of all the faculties, librarian and students. President (Jina Jyoti
Das) and General Secretary (Nitul Das) of Students Union shared their ideas, views regarding
their duties and responsibilities towards college.
The script play drama was the main event of the program which was led by Dr. Pallabi
Deka. The script play drama was taken from Dr. Pranjal Burgohain’s (Assistant Professor,
Education Department, Dibrugarh University) “Moi Tumak Beya Pau Ravan” or “I hate you
Ravan”. The script drama which was played by Dr. Chandan Jyoti Chutia (Assistant Professor,
Assamese) as “Ravan” while Dr. Dikshita Burgohain (Assistant Professor, Political Science)
played as “Sita” and Debajani Gogoi (Assistant Professor, Political Science) played as a
background musician in the script drama play.
