Organogram of Damdama College
Damdama College follows the policies and directions of the Director of Higher Education(DHE), Government of Assam in terms of appointment of staff (teaching and non-teaching), constitution of the Governing Body of the College, implementation of service rules etc. The College follows the procedures suggested by the DHE through the Governing Body of the institution. The planning and execution of various policies is done by the GB of the College. The GB is constituted of the President, who is a State Government’s nominee, two VC’s representative, teacher members, Guardian members. Members of non-teaching staff. The Principal of the College, who is the Secretary of the Governing Body(GB) looks after the day to day functioning of the college. He is assisted by various committees-the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, the Academic Committee, the Purchase Committee, the Grievance Redressal Cell, the Canteen Committee, and Committee against Sexual Harassment etc.
The Principal is also the administrative head of the college and prepares lists of candidates for appointment to various academic and non-academic positions, implementation of service rules, infrastructure related works etc and places such issues before the GB for acceptance, which is further forwarded to the DHE for final acceptance.
As head of academics, the Principal is the overall authority for the conduct of academic, research and extension activities. The Head Assistant is the college treasurer and is responsible for all financial matters. He reports all financial related matters to the Principal.
The various statutory bodies are constituted and meetings are conducted as per the UGC, MHRD, State Government and University guidelines. The Non-statutory Bodies are constituted by the Board of Management to complement the functions of the Statutory Bodies. The College GB nominates various academicians to these bodies.
The programs and events in the college are periodically monitored by various committees and reported to the Principal, who places such issues before the GB for discussion and final approval. The executive leadership is shared by the Principal, the HOD’s Conveners of various cells the IQAC Coordinator etc.
The Principal and Head of Departments communicate various job related activities to the faculties and staff periodically. The Office of in-Charge examinations maintains records relating to examinations and communicates necessary orders from the affiliating university and necessary guidelines in evaluation of answer scripts to various departments.
